A Local workshop at the City Hall of Siteia on Tuesday 11th of July 2017

In the context of the communication strategy of the project "LIFE Natura2000Value Crete", the University of Crete - Natural History Museum of Crete (NHMC), in collaboration with the Municipality of Siteia  organised a workshop entitled: "NATURA 2000 Sites: Chance or obstacle for the development?". The workshop took place on Tuesday, the 11th of July 2017, at the City Hall of Siteia at 18.30 p.m.

The programme of the workshop was the following: 

  • 10.40 - 10.55: Tania Ploumi, Environmentalist MSc (University of Crete - Natural History Museum of Crete): ''NATURA 2000 Network and its benefits"
  • 10.55 - 11.10: Eleutheria Chatzaki, In charge of the Political Protection of the Municipality of Viannos: ''NATURA 2000 site in Viannos region''
  • 11.10 - 11.30: Emmanouil Psarologakis, President of the Hunting Association of Viannos: ''Tracing back to the origins of the Hunting Association and its environmentally-friendly activities''
  • 11.30 - 11.45: Stavros Xirouchakis, Dr. Biologist-Ornithologist (University of Crete - Natural History Museum of Crete): ''Ecosystem Services of the Wildlife'' 
  • 12.00: Release of griffon vultures
